Ellie & Jonathan Engaged!
Posted in engagements
Ellie and Jonathan love the outdoors. They have recently moved to Arizona, but they already have their favorite camping spot. So naturally that’s where we went for their engagement session. Ellie is an attorney and has a pretty busy schedule. Therefore, we shot their engagement session before she went to work. That’s a first for me. I’m not usually a morning person but this was definitely worth the 4 am wake-up call.
What could be better than a s’mores breakfast?
I guess you can follow it with some cuddling…
… and playing in the water:

And then coffee and some more cuddling to warm-up:

After their session we tried to stop for some prickly pear ice cream. Sadly they were closed. What to do? Take more photos, of course.

Nikki & Jude *Engagement Session in Sedona*
Posted in engagements
Nikki and Jude are so much fun. We drove to Sedona earlier this week and I’m so glad I got to know them better. They are so kind, patient, and funny. Sadly, I was pretty sick on the day of their session and every time they would get me started laughing I couldn’t stop coughing. I was a total mess and they were so nice to me
. Thanks guys! I cannot wait for your wedding. And I must also say a huge thank you to Rebekah and Michael for being an awesome bride & groom and referring me to their awesome friends.
Que fotos lindas!!!!
E o casal parece ser o maximo.
Adorei os locais escolhidos para as fotos, me deu ate vontade de estar la!

Fancy Camera Workshop
Posted in engagements | photography
Yesterday I hosted another Fancy Camera Workshop and it was an amazing day full of learning and a seriously awesome group of ladies. And as you can see from the photo above, a very gorgeous bunch. From left to right. Back row: Ashely, Andrea, Anita, Emilia, Erica, and Irma (the birthday girl!). Front row: Janel, Asia, Tina, Crista, Leah, Jessica, and Nicole. By the way, this is the second time that I have two of my brides at the workshop. I wonder if the trend will continue? So fun!
It was a super hot day out but these girls were troopers as well as Kristin & Chad, our models for the day. I didn’t shoot a lot, but I thought I should share some of the images of this super sweet couple. Thank you two so much!

If you are interested in attending a Fancy Camera Workshop, please e-mail me at cristi@cristiowen.com or leave a comment below. Thanks and I’ll see you soon
There are no comments so far. You should leave the first!

Johnna & Byron Engaged!
Posted in engagements
Last Friday I had the honor to meet Johnna and Byron at their home in Scottsdale. They will be getting married this summer in Turks and Caicos and although I won’t be able to photograph their wedding, I’m really glad I got the chance to photograph their engagement session.
Johnna is from Tennesse and one of the sweetest girls I’ve ever met. Besides, her accent reminds me of my awesome friend Shea, so I pretty much felt like we were BFF’s instantly! And Byron and I bonded over the fact that his roommate in college was from Brazil and we even exchanged some words in Portuguese. You two were so much fun! Thank you for an awesome afternoon.

And we also got to take a few shots inside their beautiful home. I love it how Johnna brought the southern charm to Arizona!

Thanks again you two! I will be thinking about y’all while you are in Turks in Caicos
. Enjoy it!
Cristi,
We love the pictures. You are AMAZING!
Friends and family,
Please enjoy the pictures and there will be many more to come!

Roushan & Tony *Engagement Session in Mesa*
Posted in engagements
Roushan & Tony will be getting married this New Year’s Eve and it was so great to spend some time with them earlier this week. I always say how much I love engagement sessions not just for the images but for the experience as a whole. It’s really great for me to get to know my clients a little better, which makes me even more excited for their wedding, but I also think it’s a great experience for my clients to get to know me and know what to expect on the wedding day. Almost like the rehearsal the day before the wedding. Everyone is a little apprehensive to do something they have never done before and having professional pictures taken definitely makes the list! The engagement session helps everyone feel at ease in front of the camera on the wedding day. But still, for me, the best part is getting to know my clients.
During Roushan and Tony’s session, I, for example, learned that Tony is not a big fan of getting dirty. And since I had them lay on the ground, sit on dirty pipes and lean on filthy walls, I’m pretty sure he’s not one of my biggest fans. But I also learned that he will do anything for Roushan as he did all of the above with a big smile on his face. And after all that, I think it’s safe to say Roushan is most definitely his biggest fan.

I also happened to learn that Roushan photographs like a supermodel. I cannot wait to photograph her as a bride!

GORGEous. and how cool are those yellow concrete circles… inspired! i think i’ll throw some of those down next to my new place! and inspired by how good you are, too. muah.

Cristi, thank you so much! We had such a great time and the pictures turned out amazing! You have such an artistic eye and really know how to find the perfect spot to take a picture! Thank you again!

Absolutely stunning! You did an amazing job; love your work. I was the makeup artist for Roushan that day, and as you can imagine it’s not challenging to make her look good, but the photos are genuinely gorgeous.
