Avery is Lauren’s sister-in-law whose family I photographed just last week and it is pretty apparent that they are all one big gorgeous family.

I was so excited when Lauren contacted me about my “Holiday Family Portraits Special”. Lauren is a cardiovascular ICU nurse and we worked together back when I was working at the hospital and only dreaming about having my own photography business. Lauren is like a real life TV character who is gorgeous, smart, kind, and amazing at what she does. The last time I saw Lauren at the hospital she was still pregnant and now her little one just turned one!

Allen Family Portraits

Cutest family you’ve ever seen? Yes, I know, I know… my clients are the cutest! And this is one of my favorite images I’ve ever taken!

It had been a while since I shot a family session and it was so great to meet the Allen family and capture some fun family moments for them. It made me realize how much I miss family sessions so if you’ve been procrastinating and haven’t scheduled a session for this Holiday Season, you are in luck! Meet little Ian. Almost two weeks old and oh so perfect!

I drove down to Tucson for this session and it was so great to spend the afternoon with this family.

Ian’s mom, Viviane, is also from Brazil and prepared the most delicious brazilian meal for us. Thank you so much, Vivi! The left over pao-de-queijo didn’t even make it to the end of your street

I had to post this next picture for three reasons:

1. These are Ian’s dad’s, David, old shoes (which makes it really really special and therefore blog-worthy)

2. They say RUFF STUFF in the back (which made me smile and I hope it makes you smile)

3. My husband couldn’t stop laughing as he pointed out to me that even during a newborn session I find a way to photograph shoes (and I thought that might make you laugh too).

Vivi and David, thanks again so so much! You guys are so great! I wish we lived closer as I have a feeling we would be BFFs I hope I get to see you all again really soon.

Russo Family

How cute are they? I had so much fun with the Russo Family this last Saturday. It was pouring rain when I first got there, but the rain slowed down for a while and we got some great images. A huge thanks to the Russo Family for being so easy going, getting wet and enduring the cold in their cute spring clothes

Oh yeah, and Gary and Amy too…

This photoshoot was all about Cleo. She’s getting older and Amy and Gary wanted to make sure they had some portraits of her. Isn’t she the cutest?
I do have to say that even though Cleo was the main reason for the shoot, Opie was definitely the rockstar of the day. Such a poser:

When I got back from Mexico last Sunday, I had lots and lots of text messages waiting for me. I had to keep deleting so I could receive the next batch. Lots of them were for Christmas and Holiday wishes. Thank you so much everyone. I am sorry I haven’t gotten back to you, I promise I will. Soon! And one of the texts was from Kat wanting to do a photoshoot with her son and her parents. I called her back and thankfully her parents were still in town! I am so glad we did this. I had a really great time and capture some awesome moments of this family together.

You might recognize Xander, as we did a shoot earlier in the year. Just him and Kat. It’s amazing how much he has grown in such a short period of time.

What a fun shoot! Three families, eleven people, three kids, one teenager, one newborn and two dogs! And surprisingly it all went incredibly smoothly. The McEuens rock!

Here are a few spontaneous portraits of the little ones:
The very first shot of the day. This one makes me laugh a lot because I asked Candice if she belonged to the family on the left and she said no so I thought I had just gotten confused and placed her in the middle (as you can see below)… Well, come to find out she does actually belong to the family on the left where I had her initially (next to her dad). Good one, Candice!

The Krager Family

What’s the best thing about having super cool clients?? It’s that they refer you to their super cool friends! I honestly can’t say enough good things about the Krager family. We met up last weekend and I had such a great time with them! They were so easy going, fun and as you can see absolutely gorgeous! So let me introduce you to the clan:

Is that a supermodel pose or what? The other day I met up with my friend Carlene and her daughter Kennedy. Kennedy didn’t want her photos taken but I snapped a few anyways. For the “posed” photo above I asked Kennedy to show me her angry face. Too cute!

Carol’s Grandsons

Carol called me a while back wanting to get some photos of all four of her grandsons together. A lot of things have come up in her life and we had to keep postponing their photoshoot, but I’m so happy to say that I finally got to meet them and that it was totally worth the wait! Abby and Thomas were soo cute! Thomas was super shy and would not crack a smile or look at me and Abby was the complete opposite and all smiles from the start. I love it how siblings can be so different. I had a lot of fun chasing after them, but the best part was watching them together. Brother and Sister, such a special bond.

This was the gorgeous families photoshoot week! The McCalls had some extended family in town and wanted to get some pictures of everyone together. When I got there the kids were still swimming which allowed for some really cute photos. Dee and her sister have four kids each – and they are all so cute! Are you ready?

TJ and ShyAnn

On Monday I met with Jesica and her gorgeous (and completely adorable) kids: TJ and ShyAnn.
TJ is 2 years old and ShyAnn is 5. ShyAnn is by far the best big sister to a little brother in the whole world. I was amazed at how patient and sweet she was. Jesica you have done an amazing job raising very kind and very loving kids. Good job and thank you so much for allowing me to spend a couple of hours with you and your family. I really enjoyed our time together.

Mindy and Conor

This session was soo fun! Mindy shared with me that she didn’t really have any photos with her son Conor since she’s usually the one with the camera and taking pictures of her son with her husband. So for their session it was just the two of them. Mother and son! They have such a loving relationship. It was really beautiful to watch. Mindy is such a great mom! Conor has a super strong personality and he’s definitely a boy’s boy. We wanted to go to all these great places for pictures but all he wanted to do was look at these old trucks in a really ugly alley. So that’s what we did! Oh yeah, he also thought it would be great to look at a car magazine sitting right in the middle of the sidewalk. I loved it that she let him be and we got some great photos. In return I got some great hugs from Conor. Besides knowing exactly what he wants he’s also really loving and gives the best hugs. Before I show you the album I have to give a huge thanks to Mindy and Conor. It was about 110 degrees when we shot these and they were such troopers. Thanks for hanging in there and being so fun and easy-going! I have the best clients

Xander and Kat

Hey everyone, sorry I haven’t posted much lately. I have (thankfully) been super busy and have 4 fun sessions to share. Let’s start with Kat and her son Xander. I met them at their house and got to meet their dog. A really cute lab! She’s pregnant and Kathrina said she will invite me back to meet and photograph all the puppies. I can’t wait! Xander showed me one of his favorite movies: “Alvin and the Chipmunks”. We didn’t have time to watch much of it so we skipped to his favorite part where the chipmunks are dancing. I was laughing so hard! Now I can’t wait to see the movie. During our session, Xander graciously agreed to do a chipmunk dance and it was hilarious! They were so much fun I could have spent another two hours photographing them!

Femi and Donnah

Whenever someone hires me to photograph themselves or their families they always have a reason as to why they want these done. This reason (which is different for everyone) is one of the reasons why I love this job so much. I think Donnah will take the prize for the best reason – at least for a while…

Donnah just had her baby girl Femi. Femi’s dad is in the Phillipines and she won’t be able to meet her dad until the end of June when her parents get married in the Phillipines. After that, it will be a while until they can all be together again so Donnah wanted her new hubby to have beautiful pictures of his family to “hold him over” until they are all together again. Can you top that?

The cute little pink bracellet you see on Femi is a gift from her daddy. So sweet!

The Weidmans

I sure hope I spelled their name right. These are my friends Janette, Jeff and their little girl Emily. I met Janette during my internship. We carpooled and had some interesting conversations during rush hour traffic jams. Emily was born just a couple of months after we graduated from our internship. She was the prettiest newborn I’ve ever seen and as you can see hasn’t grown out if it yet . This pretty girl was on a mission today: “whatever you do, don’t look at the camera!” Good thing her parents are very patient!
