baby Aden

Posted in newborn | portraits

I feel so so special to be invited back into my clients lives to document the arrival of their little ones. I photographed Aimee and Loreto’s wedding last year in St. Louis and I was so excited when they announced they were expecting their first baby. Today I got to meet little Aden. He’s just such a perfect little boy.

Aimee and Loreto, thank you so much for the honor of photographing Aden. I hope you treasure these images forever.

Lawson

It was so special to get to meet Lawson yesterday! He is by far the most easy-going baby I’ve ever photographed. I’m sure it helps that both his parents as just as laid-back. I remember raving about Krista being such a great bride – never worrying if her dress was getting dirty, sitting down on the dirtiest spots and just going with the flow, all in the name of pictures. And Kelby may not be the biggest fan of having his pictures taken, but he’s always game too – no matter what. And Lawson seems to take after them. He let us take him from room to room, change outfits,  lay him on top of a box and never complained. Yes, I’m pretty in love with him.

Krista and Kelby, thank you for welcoming me into your home once again, and for allowing me to document Lawson’s cuteness!

I’m pretty sure this is a smile:Kelby’s one request:You may remember this chair from their maternity session :) Thanks, guys and I will see you in 6 months! Can’t wait!

Ian

Meet little Ian. Almost two weeks old and oh so perfect!

I drove down to Tucson for this session and it was so great to spend the afternoon with this family.
Ian’s mom, Viviane, is also from Brazil and prepared the most delicious brazilian meal for us. Thank you so much, Vivi! The left over pao-de-queijo didn’t even make it to the end of your street :)
Sorry, food always distracts me. Back to the pictures. A close-up of his perfectness. If that’s not a real word, it should be, because that’s the only way to describe this:
and this would be perfection:
I’m running out of words… How about… perfectly gorgeous family:

This melts my heart:
Is that a smile?
Seriously! How cute can one be!?!!
I had to post this next picture for three reasons:

1. These are Ian’s dad’s, David, old shoes (which makes it really really special and therefore blog-worthy)
2. They say RUFF STUFF in the back (which made me smile and I hope it makes you smile)
3. My husband couldn’t stop laughing as he pointed out to me that even during a newborn session I find a way to photograph shoes (and I thought that might make you laugh too).
Vivi and David, thanks again so so much! You guys are so great! I wish we lived closer as I have a feeling we would be BFFs :) I hope I get to see you all again really soon.

Aliyah

Cristi Owen

Every time I do a maternity session I always hope that I’ll be able to meet the baby. So I was super excited when Leeana called me to photograph Aliyah. Aliyah is so perfectly beautiful! She has the most gorgeous eyelashes and the most perfect little smile. Grandma was also there and it was great to be able to capture 3 generations of beautiful women!

baby Ryder

Posted in newborn | portraits

Cristi Owen

I felt so special to be able to meet little Ryder after just 2 weeks of life. It was so fun to meet the baby I’ve seen everyday for the past nine months. By the way, I was totally wrong because I thought it was a girl…

He is certainly a boy, a very adorable little man:

While Denise was pregnant, Steve sent her flowers at work and they were addressed to “Mamma Llama”, so here I present to you the the new Llama Family:
Speaking of nicknames, Denise calls Ryder “Littles” and in such a sweet way!
Here’s a rare Ryder moment where he is not totally alert (it only lasted about 0.145 seconds).

“Littles” doesn’t even know it yet, but he is one lucky baby born to wonderfully loving parents.

Thank you Denise, for inviting me into your home and letting me spend time with you and Ryder.
