A BIG Thank You to My Clients

I didn’t post very many portrait sessions from last year, but I just wanted to say to all of my clients a big thank you for trusting me to document their families and for their loyalty. It means so much to me. A lot more than I could ever put into words.

One of my amazing and first clients is this gorgeous family that I photographed for the first time back in 2008:

Three years later and the boys are even more handsome and the girls even more gorgeous. But most importantly they are ALL so kind to each other and so much fun to spend time with. So here they are in 2011:It is so special to me to have the experience of watching my clients families grow and change throughout the years and also observe their love and bond deepen.

Thank you all so much, have a very happy 2012 and I’ll see you again some time this year :).

I’ve photographed Kathryn’s family a few times before and it’s always such a treat to see them. This time around was really just all about Kathryn and we had so much fun. I had so many favorites that I just randomly picked a few to share here. Although her senior year is still a couple of years away, I’m already looking forward to those photos as well! Kathryn, I hope you love these and thanks for such a fun afternoon! Just because portraits are the best!

The Starting Point

First of all, thank YOU all so much for supporting Megan. She’s super excited to share this experience with all of you and beyond grateful to everyone’s words of support and encouragement.

So here’s the breakdown of our plan of action:

Megan ultimately would like to lose 40 pounds. The biggest challenge is that she would like to do so by her wedding day. Her wedding is on November 4th which is 19 weeks away. This will equal to approximately a weight loss of 2 pounds per week for a total of 38 pounds. It sounds pretty simple in theory, but in practice it is much much harder.

In order to lose 1 pound, there needs to be a calorie deficit of 3,500 calories. To lose 2 pounds in one week, there will need to be a 7,000 calorie deficit per week OR 1,000 calorie deficit per day. Not an easy task.

Megan is committed to decreasing her calorie intake by 500 calories/day and exercising 500 calories/day to achieve her 1,000 daily calorie deficit.

For the first week (6.27 – 7.03) I asked Megan to keep track of her diet and exercise so I could identify areas for improvement. I will be posting that tomorrow along with the changes I’ve suggested.

My Fun New Venture!

Megan: “Done!”

This is one of the many reasons I love Megan. I only met her about 1 month ago, but she just has the type of personality that you want to be around all the time. Always up for anything and ready for a good laugh.

Megan is engaged and her wedding is coming up in 19 weeks! Sadly for me, I’m not her wedding photographer, but I am excited to still be somewhat involved in her wedding. For those of you who don’t know, before I was a photographer I was a dietitian. And I’m now Megan’s personal dietitian. Megan and I will both be blogging about her progress, her questions, her meals, and her exercise. We might even throw in a few grocery store tours. And you get to follow along and cheer her on. I’m so excited for this! I hope this blog becomes not just a space in the internet world to look at a photos, but also a valuable resource to answer your questions regarding nutrition. And if you have questions, please head on over to formspring (on the right column under “stay connected”) and ask away! And of course, you can always ask a questions under comments too :).

Nicole + Adam = Connor

Remember the gorgeous couple Nicole and Adam who got married last March at Brophy Chapel? Now, meet their newest little addition to their family, Connor.

I met up with Nicole yesterday, and Connor was already 11 days old. He’s so active and alert! He will probably be crawling at 3 months old :). And I have to say I was super impressed with Nicole as you would never think Connor is her first baby. She’s such a pro. I feel like every time I spend any time with Nicole I learn something. Something about life, something about myself. Not that she’s ever trying to teach me anything, there’s just something about her joyous personality and her easy going attitude that always impresses me.

So here’s some baby cuteness for y’all to enjoy :)

Holiday Mini Session

I love it when I get to see and photograph past clients of mine. Amanda and Eric were married in November of 2009 and although I’ve met up with Amanda a couple of times since then, this was the first time I’ve gotten to see Eric again. Amanda and her siblings wanted to get some family photos for as a Christmas gift for their mom, so we got together the day after Thanksgiving when her siblings were all in Arizona visiting and got some fun portraits of them.

Even though the ground was cold and a little wet, Amanda really wanted to get this shot. I know Eric was happy to sit this one out :).

I have a soft spot for sisterly love. I miss my sister so much!

Amanda and Eric, LOVED seeing you guys again. And Ben and Jen, it was great to see you two again as well. I hope you had safe travels back home and that you all enjoyed your “torta sandwiches”. You guys are awesome! Happy Holidays!

Two very special bridesmaids

This past Saturday I photographed Breckin and Alex’s wedding. It was a really fun one for me since I had previously photographed Breckin’s sister’s wedding and Alex’s sister’s wedding. It was great to know everyone by name during family portraits :).

Breckin’s sister (Rachelle) and Alex’s sister (Christina) were both bridesmaids and they are both pregnant! So fun!

Lawson is 6 months!

If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you’ve seen Kelby and Krista’s engagement photos, wedding photos, Krista’s adorable pregnant belly, and Lawson’s newborn session. It’s incredible to see the progression of life and how much exciting change can happen in such a short amount of time. And as impossible as it seems, Lawson is even cuter than the last time I saw him!

Maria Belen

It was such a pleasure to hang out with this gorgeous girl this past Sunday. I first met Maria Belen last year when I photographed her sister Valeria for her high-school senior photos and Maria Belen came for support. Now, when it was her turn to be in front of the camera, guess who came all the way from Tucson for some sisterly support? It was so great to see these girls again. They are obviously gorgeous, but also so incredibly sweet. We had a lot of fun and I hope it shows. Enjoy the images!
