Tassie & TJ *A Rustic Montana Wedding*
Posted in weddings
This past Sunday, Tassie and TJ tied the knot in Polson, Montana. It was so special to be a part of their day. Tassie is my husband’s cousin and has always been such a good friend to me.
The preparations started at the salon and the girls finished getting ready at Tassie’s aunt’s place – who happens to be my mother-in-law
.
This may be my favorite picture I’ve taken in a while:
No kidding, this image is from their first look. Completely candid. And yes, I cried during their first look. It was so touching.

And the whole crew. What a handsome bridal party!
They pretty much made my heart melt during the ceremony:
The priest who married Tassie’s parents said a special blessing for their rings:
I thought it was really great how the intentionally only put the ring on each other’s finger half-way, allowing the other person to put it on all the way as a symbol of their mutual commitment to each other.

After the ceremony we made a pit-stop at a local burger place called Richwines Burgerville (my favorite burger place). Smart couple as the bride and groom rarely get a chance to eat at the reception.
The reception was beautiful in true Montana style.

TJ & TJ, I hope you are having so much fun on your honeymoon. Love you!

A Couple of Images from a Couple of Weddings
Posted in weddings
The weekend before leaving for my vacation I photographed a wedding in Tucson at the Arizona Inn with my friend Michelle Meyer. The Arizona Inn has so much charm and character. I loved it! It was a really really hot day too, but the Arizona Inn is beautiful and offered plenty of shade for us. It was a really fun day and here are couple of images of Julianne and Daniel’s wedding day:
And back in April I photographed a wedding at DC Ranch Country Club with Jennifer Bowen. What a gorgeous venue! All the details were impeccable too. Here are a couple of shots from Steve and Mirav’s wedding day:

Now I’m going back to my vacation
. Pictures of our fun time here to come soon!
There are no comments so far. You should leave the first!

Bridal Bouquet Ideas
Posted in weddings
April showers brings May flowers, right? Maybe everywhere else, but not so much in Arizona. I’m sitting here wishing I could go outside and see gardens blooming but since that’s not the case I thought I would satisfy my craving for flowers right here on my blog.
I chose a few of the bouquets from weddings I photographed last year and this year to help all the brides out there who are looking for ideas for bridal bouquets.
This one is from Mirav and Steve’s wedding which I shot with Jennifer Bowen (and have not blogged yet). I love how soft and delicate it is but the “bling” around the ribbon adds a touch of “drama”:
Left: from Nicole and Adam’s wedding: very classic and elegant and the deep color in the orchids complemented the bridesmaid dresses so well.
Right: from Colleen and Brad’s wedding: I love the organic feel of this one. The mix of color, the variety of flowers, and different heights give it the just- picked-from-the-garden look, which I love.
from Nicole & Chris’ wedding: the orange is so vibrant and the broach adds a whimsical personal touch to the bouquet.
from Mary & Bret’s wedding: a simple and sweet mix of roses. And the ribbons around the stem tie in to the wedding’s color scheme.
from Leslie & Danny’s wedding: this one is so feminine and delicate. The stems completely wrapped in ribbon is a nice luxurious detail.
Left: from Kristina and Brian’s wedding: roses and orchids similar to Nicole and Adam’s, but with darker hues which look stunning against a white dress.
Right: from Krista & Kelby’s wedding: a mix of roses similar to Mary and Bret’s but the addition of the greenery gives it a more organic feel.
from Kristin and Brian’s wedding: this bouquet reminded me of some of the bridal bouquets I saw in Italy. They are smaller in size than the American bouquets and had very unique flowers.
from Emily and Matt’s wedding. I shot this wedding in Alabama with Amelia Strauss and I fell so in love with the pink, furry-looking leaves that when I first posted this picture I asked what they are called and a few blog readers chimed in and I guess there are a couple of different names for it: celosia or coxcombs.
Left: from Kelly & Panos’ wedding: such a striking mix of colors. It has the same super cool flower as Nicole and Chris. Again, not a florist. No idea what the name of the flower is. Can anyone help?
Right: from Aimee & Loreto’s wedding: another mix of roses and orchids but in a more monochromatic look than Adam and Nicole’s or Kristina and Brian’s.
Speaking of monochromatic… Love the all white bridal bouquet from Amanda and Ryan’s wedding. This one has a little bit of sass with a tiny bit of green here and there and the copper leaves make it so perfect for a fall wedding. These leaves were actually placed upside down on the bouquet so the bottom is the green top part of the leaf. Such a great idea!
This is from the wedding I shot with Kimberly Jarman at the Valley Ho. Erica’s bouquet with the deep red and black feathers has a very 50′s glamorous look to it. But the best part about this one is that the bride pinned her mother’s necklace to the bouquet.
The berries on this one just make me happy! It’s another roses and orchids combo, but it’s so fun to see how all the bouquets look so different with the slightest changes even when the main flowers are the same. This is from Brittany and Dave’s wedding I shot with Megan Resch.
Left: from Christina and Eric’s wedding. So simple and beautiful. The mix of the colors in the calla lilies is very eye-catching.
Right: from Sheli and Joe’s wedding. Although they were married in January, I think this would also be another perfect bridal bouquet for a fall wedding.
Love this post (my mom will too
)! They are called protea (or pin cushion protea).

Irma & Braden *Wedding at the Pera Club*
Posted in weddings
Irma and Braden were married this past Saturday at the Pera Club in Tempe and I started the day with Irma at the Hair Gallery Salon where she got ready:
After the salon we left to her friend’s house to finish getting ready and it just so happens that it was right here that Irma and Braden met for the very first time a little over two years ago to watch the Super Bowl.
After Irma and Braden got a chance to see each other during their first look, the entire bridal party rode the Troley to Old Town Scottsdale for some photos:

The ceremony included a “hand ceremony” and it was so beautiful!

After the ceremony we took just a few more portraits of the happy couple. Here’s one of them:
Irma did an incredible job with all of the details of the ceremony and their friends helped out a ton, even hanging all of those lanterns the morning of the wedding:
The best man, Ian, not only gave one of the best speeches I’ve ever heard but he also proved to have some serious skills out on the dance floor. I even picked up a few new moves:
Braden and Irma, as everyone said at the wedding, you two are exceptional people with amazing hearts and I am so happy for you two that you have found each other. Thanks for such a fun day!
Cristi.. These pictures are amazing!! We loved having you there not only as our photographer, but as our guest. Thanks for working your magic on our special day. Love, Irma & Braden

Nicole & Chris *Wedding at The Farm at South Mountain*
Posted in weddings
Nicole and Chris were married this past Saturday at The Farm at South Mountain and I am still smiling about it. And you are about to find out why.
Orange being my favorite color, I couldn’t be more excited about the color scheme Nicole chose for her wedding and pretty paper makes me happy:
Nicole was a beautiful bride (and please take note of those fabulous shoes):
Her dress is from Lillian Lottie by Casablanca
I also loved the dresses she picked for her bridesmaids. It’s such a unique color. The dresses are from Lillian Lottie and the designer is Love by Enzoani.
Their First Look was so touching:
I think there’s a chance Nicole may have liked her gift:
The happy couple before the ceremony:
So many gorgeous details! And their idea for the escort cards was so unique. Each table was named for its flower centerpiece and the guests names were pinned next to not only the name of flower but the flower itself. Beautiful and unique. And the hanging crystals and flower vases were to die for!
Chris got a little choked up as Nicole walked down the aisle:

This moment right after their first kiss says so much:
And this moment gets to me each and every time.
We just couldn’t pass up the beautiful light so we took a few more portraits after the ceremony:

And it’s time to celebrate! Here are some of the flower specific centerpieces I mentioned earlier. So clever!
Their reception was filled with touching and funny toasts, happy friends, supportive families, a lot of hugs, smiles, plenty of dancing, and lots and lots of love:

Vendors:
Officiant: Mike Kennedy
Florist: Noble Flower Shop
Invites: The M Press
Cake: La Dolce Pesca

Videographer: Taken
Cristi,
